Randy Lyhus

Freelance Illustrator, Imagemaker

The surreal illustration images displayed on this site were created by composing 3d models in Cinema 4d – a 3d animation program – then compositing and retouching the single final render in Adobe Photoshop.

My illustration work has appeared in many major publications in the US and has been used by major corporations. It’s been recognized for excellence by Communication Arts magazine, PRINT magazine and others. Articles about my methods and process have appeared in The Artist’s Magazine, and Novum – the graphic design magazine. I hold a BFA from The Maryland Institute College of Art and an MFA from Syracuse University.

Client list includes:  The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Sports Illustrated, Apple Computer, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Sprint, FedEx and many others.

Note: In 2015, I started a new company – Keokee Travel Gear. I’m not doing much illustration these days, though I do still really enjoy taking on an occassional illustration assignment. So, if you have something that fits my style, I’d love to hear from you. Please get in touch using the form on the contact page.
